Virtual Design

Our in-house virtual design capabilities set R|MILLER apart. Using Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) methods, we are able to see our projects from a different perspective, and glean a more thorough understanding of what our client is seeking to accomplish before we even set foot on a job site. In addition to providing an immersive digital environment for project teams to visualize a space, virtual design technologies harnessed during the preconstruction phase allow us to anticipate problems before they manifest in the field and coordinate with subcontractors to resolve them.

For clash-detection we use Navisworks - a powerful tool that lets us synthesize architectural, engineering, and construction elements in one comprehensive 3D model. By identifying conflicts early on, this software reduces the need for change orders in the later stages of a project to address details missing from plan drawings. VDC and BIM help us identify unanswered questions and expand upon plans to limit the need for time-consuming RFIs and additional consultant hours. We encourage all of our clients to take advantage of these invaluable tools to bring a new level of detail to their projects. For an exceptional building experience, we highly recommend "building it before we build it.”
